Second day in Nashville P.M.

Well, what an afternoon we have had. Somehow Rosie, Melissa and I ended up on a bus this evening to downtown Nashville. I took a picture of Rosie in front of Ryman Auditorium. We didn't go in, but we did go in to the Country Music Hall of Fame. I was surprised at how much I knew about country music. Not that I would pass the country music Mensa test. Cuz I wouldn't. You will also probably notice there is a strange picture of myself and Melissa in a reflection. I noticed how thin I looked in it and took a picture so all of you will know how I will be looking in a few months. Of course, that may be slowed down by the fact that Stephenie and I discovered Key Lime tart and room service. Panna Cotta tomorrow!!!! Calories Shmalories. :) We had a big shindig tonight called Nashville Nights. They had a lot of fancy type appetizers that we enjoyed...a lot. Our greatest enjoyment was the chocolate fountain. See the picture of me licking the plate?...I thought everything could be dipped and eaten. hmmm....lesson learned. We had some country dancing, and met a Garth Brooks impersonator. Stephenie and I also raced beanbag horses...I do have video....it is frightening. Mostly because I got caught up in a cone and started losing, so I had jump off my horse and slide into finish. I sort of like to win. Well, we have some cool classes to attend tomorrow. I will post my analysis of the functionality and usefulness of each class I attend. Yeah right! Goodnight. mmmmm...key lime tart

Second day in Nashville A.M.

We had our opening ceremonies this morning. All the schools marched in behind our state's flags. We were very excited. We met some wonderful people from a middle school in Mesa and an elementary school in Alaska and in Colorado. Educators are awesome people to hang out with! Oh yeah, a marching band lead us in, so it was rocking and rolling! We had pom-poms and flags. I thrive in an atmosphere of energy and excitment!! So we were having fun! We had to be quick and practically run down the aisle, because the Title I nazi lady told us that Arizona needed to pick up the pace during our practice. I am adding a picture of her. However, during the actual parade of states one of our group members did decide that gracefulness was not her best attribute and decided to trip over a hole in the rug that she had noticed earlier and decided to tell others about. I will give you three guesses who it was....um nope, she is much too graceful....nope, she is too close to the ground to actually trip....give up???!!! Okay it is me!! Who else?? I am betting no one is surprised. Well, we are going to eat lunch. I will blog later tonight after our Nashville nights reception this evening. p.s. Dolly was no show...she has the flu. She is suppose to come to see us another time this week. We'll see!!!

First Day in Nashville

Well it is 7:30 Tucson time, and we are going to bed. WooHoo PARTY!!! The plane ride was fun...Stephenie and I took the Mensa challenge in the airplane magazine thingy and failed miserably. So we figure that we don't need to take on many responsibilities and can just float along...enjoying life. The hotel is amazing. There are fountains everywhere, they just need birds to enjoy the water and then it would make it easier to bird watch in Nashville :) We have been easily distracted by shopping and food. Did I mention they have Haagan-Daas ..in the hotel!!!! The hotel is soooo amazingly big that we have been lost several times and even spent some time going around, and around in circles before we found the stairs. Have you ever seen eleven women circling?? Kind of scary. But, we have to iron now, we have an early wake-up to go practice marching around for the parade of distinguished schools. I should have pictures of Dolly Parton tomorrow. Good-night and don't burn any more popcorn. xoxo Sara

Okay it is the night before we leave to Nashville. I have to admit I am a little nervous. I always wonder if my substitute will have enough to keep the kids busy and if they will do a good job for the substitute and if they will miss me :) It is taking me awhile to pack tonight, because I am getting a lot of help. See picture. I am excited for tomorrow!! Nashville here we come!!!
